Karachi : Opener M Aslam played an explosive 89-run knock off 46 balls and helped Dollar East seal their place in the semifinals of the Aga Khan Gymkhana Ramazan Trophy after defeating Qasmi Sports by 27 runs in quarterfinals here at AKG Ground on Wednesday.
Mohammad Aslam and Shahzar Mohammad set up the victory by sharing opening partnership of 126 that helped their side pile up 199-4 in the stipulated 20 overs. Shahzar made 56 runs off 45 balls.
Qasmi Sports, in reply, scored 172 before losing all of their wickets in 19.1 overs. Former Test paceman and Dollar East skipper Shabbir Ahmed claimed three for 38.
