Karachi, Bank Islami (BI) cricket team defeated HSBC Bank (HSBC) team by six wickets and qualified for the semifinals of 8th AKU Twenty-20 Ramadan Cricket Tournament here Sunday at AKU Sports Centre Cricket Ground.
HSBC batted first in the match and put on board a modest total of 128-8 in 20 overs. Tehsin Nazer, Zameer Hussain and Arsalan Bashir all scored 27 runs each coincidently. Waseem Ali and Tauqeer Nasir captured three wickets each for Bank Islami.
Bank Islami easily reached the target in 16 overs with six wickets in hand. Shoaib Akhtar played a brilliant 60-run knock off 33 balls for the victors.
